| YOUR
FUNDS ~ YOUR WAY |
| |
The
St. Clair Foundation understands that every donor has
different needs and hopes for their contributions and
works to provide a variety of giving options. There
are many ways to donate; of local causes, to designation
towards a specific fund or agency, to custom funds named
in memory of a family or individual.
Whatever method of giving is selected, the donor will
have the peace of mind that the desired charitable objectives
can be accomplished through the St. Clair Foundation
with tax deductibility and the added assurance of active
and flexible management for the future success of their
cause. |
| |
| THE
GENERAL FUND: FLEXIBLE & FAR-REACHING |
| |
There
are so many ways to give; how do you choose? Some may
wish to leave an amount to the community, but not know
how to select the most pressing need. Some may no want
to limit their funds to just one agency, and some may
want to help with finding a cure for a disease, but
be uneasy about what would happen to those funds if
a cure were found.
The St. Clair Foundation's General Fund offers an ideal
solution to all such problems, both currently, and in
the future. The General Fund orients its giving towards
the following types of proven causes; Scholarships,
Churches, Athletics, Arts, Education, Youth, Philanthropic
Organizations, and Specials Needs. |
| |
| GETTING
TAX BENEFITS FORM LOCAL GIVING |
| |
| Year
End Giving: An individual may wish to take
maximum charitable deductions near the end of the tax
year instead of delaying the giving until after their
death, when certain tax advantages will have been lost,
and the gift may or may not be advantageous to his estate
and the surviving family. This use of the St. Clair
Foundation can eliminate the need of a hasty decision
as to the exact destination of the gift. Such gifts
may be made in cash, securities, real estate or other
property. |
|
Philanthropy is
an act of good citizenship, fulfilling the natural aspiration
of every thoughtful man and woman to add a measure of
improvement to his own community.
The
St. Clair Foundation extends on invitation
to every citizen to invest in the future of this area
and in the welfare of its citizens. |

WE'LL
HELP YOU MAKE YOUR MARK
~ LOCALLY |
The St. Clair Foundation is a non-profit
charitable organization established in 1971 to help
individuals improve the quality of life in Preble County
through charitable donations with active stewardship
towards local causes.
The Board members of the St. Clair Foundation are involved
Preble County citizens who evaluate and manage the allocation
of tax exempt gifts to worthy local charities. They
work hard to thoughtfully make the best use of the funds
for you and your community's causes. |
|
| |
| Tax
Deferral Benefits: Situations frequently exist
where a married individual can provide generously for
their family and still have available a generous sum
for charitable or other uses. A husband and wife may
both have substantial estates of their own, and additions
to the wealth of either may impose a tax burden rather
than a net benefit. Such people are undoubtedly generous
givers and the St. Clair Foundation provides an excellent
vehicle for continuing this generosity into the future.
The Foundation may also be made the beneficiary of the
life insurance policies for these same reasons. |
| |
| Term
Trusts for High Income Earner: Another tax-based
giving option is term trusts. In this option, an individual
who is in a high income bracket during the period they
are earning a salary may set up a term trust in favor
of the St. Clair Foundation. Such a trust provides that
the income, over a specified period of years, shall
be paid to the foundation, to be used for charitable
purposes, and thus be non-taxable to you. You may further
provide that the trust shall terminate and the funds
revert to you at a later date. Through this plan, income
which would otherwise be subject to tax, will go to
help his local community. |

| Lifetime
Interest Provisions: A gift can be made in
trust, with the income going to the donor and/or other
named beneficiaries for a specified period or for their
lives, and the principal going to the St. Clair Foundation
upon their deaths. The donor will benefit from an income
tax deduction within allowable limits, for the present
value of the ultimate gift to the Foundation. |

| LEAVING
A LEGACY |
| |
| Estate
Planning: The St. Clair Foundation is the ideal
recipient of funds from wills, trusts, and annuities.
The funds can reach the foundation with or without distribution
instructions, as the donor may desire. |
| |
| Specific
Bequests: The St. Clair Foundation can also
help an individual plan to make a major gift for a purpose
some time in the future, such as, a new wing for a building,
a new boy's club or a youth center. Tell us your wishes
and we will build the vehicle that best meets your goals. |
| |
| Small
or Medium-sized gifts: The St. Clair Foundation
is an ideal vehicle for the public-spirited individual
who wishes to donate or bequeath a small or medium-sized
sum to benefit his community. The smaller gifts, lumped
with others, will receive the same able and experienced
management as a large trust, the same continuity of
administration, diversification of investment, and most
important of all, the same faithful and intelligent
distribution of income where and when it will do the
most good. |
| |
| In
Memoriam Gifts: Many families prefer to select
"In-memoriam" gift causes for the funeral
of a loved one. Gifts to St. Clair Foundation are always
in perfect taste and offer the benefit of local designation
and even the choice of designating a type of cause that
reflects that loved one's interests. Each such gift
is tax deductible and will be appropriately acknowledged
to the family and the donors. |
